Registration is now open for the Australian Junior Chess Championships to be held at the Glenunga International High School in Adelaide, South Australia from Saturday 13th January to Sunday 21st January, 2024. Registration will close from Thursday 11th January; more details are available here.

  1. A player’s age is deemed to be their age on January 1st, 2024;
    Please note that the term ‘under’ means a child must be less than that age to qualify entry for an age category, e.g. a child who is aged eight on 1st of January 2024 must enter a U10 or higher category, while a child who turns eight on the 2nd or afterwards would qualify the U8 category.
  2. Early Bird prices are available until November 30, 2023;
  3. A player can play in an older age group if they wish.

Eligibility rules for the Australian Championships are governed by the ACF by-law #3, available here. All competitors must be Under 18 years of age on the 1st of January 2024.
